Nature Experiences!!

I have had the very fortunate experience to have traveled, in a vehicle, through all 48 continental US states as well as parts of Canada and Mexico. I am a History major and so places where you can just feel the weight of the years gone by have always been a passion. In my travels, I tried to stop and explore in as many places as I possibly could.

These have ranged from defined monuments such as Mt Rushmore, the Hoover Dam, Niagra Falls (Canadian side), Lincoln's home, Smithsonian, etc... but I also take the time to just stop and feel the not so obviously marked historic places like Mt Zion National Park, Sedona, Red Rock Canyon, Boston in general, Snohomish in Washington State where we actually have a rain forest, the Top of the Rockies Scenic Bypass, random rest areas where we park and hike off to explore in many states, forested and newly growing mountain faces in Oregon, etc...

I have been able to travel like this since 2006 but for the past 3 years, I went out non-stop and averaged 80,000 miles each of those years so listing all the places I have been blessed to have visited would be way too time consuming for me and tedious for you! So in an effort to share and make it enjoyable.. here are some of my favorite pictures from over the years.

Top of the Rockies Scenic Bypass, Colorado (elevation 14,000 ft - 100+ miles)

Driving through Mt Zion, Utah (300+ miles)

Arizona

Northern California

Oregon : (

The drive in to Seattle from the East... yes the interstate DOES go under the neighborhood! How's that for efficient use of space and city planning!

Northern Idaho

Washington State

Rain Forest in Washington State

I've walked a path that Louis and Clarke have!! My appreciation for my founders was never so great until I stood in and traveled through many of the places where our History was shaped, futures of nations changed, where pivotal moments began/ended, all by brave individuals I will never be able to thank for their efforts.

Exceptionally old but still functioning warehouse in West Virginia

Delaware Water Gap

Maine

Boston - My favorite picture. I love the contrast of the new and the old and how it shows just how out of control our society has become when it comes to building in cities... and practically burying our history!

Montana

Utah

Mount Rushmore - surprisingly smaller than I had expected. Still an amazing place.

I have thousands of pictures from my travels but I think that is probably enough for this blog!! Hope you enjoyed.
