JE #15 - Field Trip to ECHO in Ft Myers - Part 1

When I heard this was a Christian based organization, I had some misgivings on what to expect. What would the ratio of God to Help actually be. Turns out that the help part seems to be the most important part which leads to the discussion of God. Now that, I liked! I have witnessed many organizations send missionaries to help and that is not their main purpose and it is so depressing. I am very glad that ECHO is not one of those organizations.

I found this place to be absolutely fascinating and the work that they are doing goes beyond admirable. It is amazing to see what brilliant minds can come up with when put to a greater use. ECHO is a phenomenal organization that combines science and religion to reach their aims, greater good. It seems that those two words don't get used together all that often: Religion and Science. After what I witnessed at ECHO, I think they should!!

Side note: I am going to try to complete my service learning hours with this organization. I feel that would be communing with nature and doing something good as opposed to picking up trash for the parks dept!!!
