I found the interview with Deborah Koons Garcia to be very interesting. I liked that we watched that first as it helped to set up the credibility of the producer. For the most part she does speak about the dvd and I did a separate blog on that so I will not go into that here.
The most interesting piece of the video was listening to the producer explain the story of how she came to be making of this video. It was very uplifting to know that it all started with a simple high school science experiment. That that moment defined her life so much that she is now dedictated to the cause of our soil, our food. I truly hope there are people who hold more power than she that can really get this situation sorted! So many times it is the whistle blower that saves the day. But what is the whistle blower really? It's a person who informs us on wrong doings; Deborah Koons Garcia has wonderfully performed that service on behalf of many small farmers with this documentary. Let's just hope we can do something about it. I thought I had been doing a good thing and being healthier by shopping at my local farmer's market. Turns out that may not even be the case.. what exactly is in their seeds??
