JE #19 - Fort Myers Cottage Field Trip - Part 2

This blog will concern the second portion of the field trip into the actual preserve guided by Jim from the Parks Dept.

Now I am going to be 100% honest here... I absolutely hated this portion of the trip. It was very hot, boring and slooooooow!

Having taken Florida Biota, Jim did not tell me anything I did not already know and so this made this portion of the trip exceptionally tedious. I think that he really could have done a bit better of a job in the explanation. It really felt like we were reading directly from a biology book. Now Jim is exceptionally good at what he does as a parks dept person and was very knowledgeable on the flora and fauna but he definitely was not the greatest tour guide. I could not have been happier when the tour was finally over!!!

On a side note, I thought it was a shame that the bus idled the whole entire time we were on the trip. There is a no idle law in Florida and the driver could have waited in the air conditioned cottage while we were on tour and shut the bus down!!!
