JE #17 - Nutritional Value of Food

Jaffar - I really had some issues completing this one.. You did not give us directions on exactly what you were looking for so I stuck with calorie count. I think for future classes, perhaps a written or posted guideline for this blog would be helpful!


Here is a list of the foods I ate on 5/28/10 along with their calorie count - for the veggies, I used "The Complete Book of Food Counts" by Corinne T. Netzer

Breakfast:
2 cinnamon raisin english muffins with butter - 140 calories per serving
1 cup of Starbucks African Kitamu blend.. very tasty! - no idea, nothing listed on bag
1 cup Florida's Natural Orange Juice - 110 calories per serving
also took some oral medications

Snack:
Mozzarella stick - 70 calories per serving

Lunch:
"Vegetable Lovers" blend lettuce mix - 20 calories per serving
I added tomatoes 20 calories, cucumbers 7 calories, green olives 25 calories, red onions 20 calories, bacon bits 30 calories, croutons 30 calories, ranch dressing 140 calories and one can of white tuna in water w/mayo 70 calories. All but the bagged lettuce came from the local farmer's market.

Snack:
Slim Jim - 40 calories per serving

Dinner:
1 large slice white mountain bread from the Publix bakery 25 calories
2 grilled portobello mushroom caps 14 calories
handful of grilled asparagus 25 calories
handful of grilled yellow squash 50 calories
handful of some grilled red onions 20 calories
All veggies from the local farmer's market.
